Accidental Archaeology

By the time you read this

that secret flashbulb daze

destined to never miss;

will be gone.

But it’s not all that bad.

I have discovered your root cellar.

And stage two is no fad.

I’ll explain.

Initially it was only a game.

(We all play it.)

To see if I could tame,

conquer and domesticate.

It worked for awhile.

The lure of lust and what not:

a simple jiggle or giggle turned smile.

Soon the minutes were years.

But now, I’m pleased to announce

there is something beyond all that.

I’m exploring each delicate ounce:

practical left-handed logic,

a violet obsession,

leftover tears,

tragic traffic maneuvers,

and your simple complications.

and the best part is –

it’s all mine.

Environmental Shoot Out

No one trusts her

because

she has gunslinger eyes.

This is not her fault.

Just a genetic pattern

that causes her problems

around high noon.
